Stephanie loves teaching voice and never tires of seeing her students grow. She always puts her students first and is honest with them about their potential. She offers trial lessons so you can meet her and decide if she is the best teacher for you before you have to pay anything. If she is not the best teacher for you she will tell you and help you find someone who will lead you to your fullest potential. Stephanie loves to help students prepare for auditions. If you are looking into applying to a school for voice or want to audition for a musical she is the teacher for you.
Stephanie has been teaching voice and piano for over 15 years and still loves to pass her love of music on to others. She has taught on the college level, professionals, and those who just want to learn to sing or play piano.
Stephanie went to the Masters College for her bachelors degree in vocal performance and received a Masters degree with honors in vocal performance from Cal State, Northridge. She continues to learn by studying voice herself, reading, and staying current on techniques.
Her musical theater credits include The Drowsy Chaperone (Chaperone), Cinderella the Panto (Cinderella), Once Upon a Mattress (Lady Larkin), Shrek (Gingy/Sugar Plum Fairy), Suessical (Gertrude McFuzz), White Christmas (Judy Haynes), Thoroughly Modern Millie (Dorothy), The Music Man (Ethel) and more. Her operatic credits include The Impressario (Miss Silverpeal), Utopia Limited (Nekaya) and others including Don Giovanni, Tosca The Merry Wives of Windsor, and Amahl and the Night Visitors. She loves performing every christmas season with The Old Town Carolers which she has done for the last five years and was also the soprano soloist in the Rutter Requiem, Rutter Magnificat, and Vivaldi Gloria. She loved being able to perform at the Nokia Theater as a featured soloist in Christmas Live!
She was also the co-director of The Songs of Summer program for several years at The Masters College and served as director of The Masters College High School Choir. Stephanie also enjoys vocal directing at The Canyon Theater guild in Sound of Music, Anne of Green Gables and Peter Pan and has directed children’s’ musical theater camps at the theater as well.
“Stephanie is one of the best teachers I have ever had in my musical experience. She is attentive, very knowledgable, and she makes you feel at ease in lessons while still challenging you. I would recommend Stephanie as a voice or piano teacher to anyone, beginner or advanced, who strives to be excellent in their musical pursuits.” – Saugus, CA

She is very pleasant to work with!” – Santa Clarita, CA

Stephanie encourages her students to get themselves out there into the performing world by preparing them technically and emotionally for the audition process.” – Santa Clarita, CA

Goals. My first and foremost goal for my students is that they have fun and develop a deep love and appreciation of music. Second to that is how much or how fast they progress. If the students are not enjoying themselves it is very unlikely they will stay with lessons very long or progress much. My most important studio policy is for myself that I am doing my best to provide the most enjoyable, beneficial, and efficient lessons that I can. For this reason I am constantly studying musical myself, researching, reading, performing, adjudicating and just studying as much as I can. I take this very seriously and I love what I do!
Cancellation. Your lesson payment serves to reserve a time slot in my schedule so you need to give me 24 hours notice or you will still be expected to pay for the lesson. If you have an emergency you will not be charged or if you are called for an audition/performance on short notice. If for some reason I miss a lesson and have not notified you in advance you will not be charged for the proceeding lesson due to the inconvenience I caused you.
Make up lessons. If you miss a lesson I am usually willing to schedule a make-up lesson. This is dependent on my schedule and availability. Although I will try to work with you making up a lesson is at my discretion.
Teaching Materials. Students need to remember to bring their materials to every class. For piano students this means your books and for voice students, you need to bring the music you are working on. If you do not remember your materials it is very difficult for me to scramble to pull together an effective lesson. If you forget your music I may decide it best to cancel your lesson and you will still be charged.
Pricing. Students will be charged a rate of $40 per half hour and $70 per hour. Payment is due at each lesson in the form of cash or check. A yearly registration fee of $25 will be charged in January of each year.
Other Fees. Some student will require books which I will purchase and the student will be expected to reimburse me for. This saves the student the hassle of trying to find the book and hoping that they got the right one. I will always let you know before I purchase a book for you to be sure you are alright with the price.
Practice. Daily practice is vital to the success of each student. Practicing is required at least 6 times per week. Failure to do so will result in the student not advancing at a desired rate as well as a waste of money for you. Practicing ensures you get the most for your money and makes lessons more fun and profitable.
Contact Information. It is very important that I have accurate contact information for all of my students so if your information ever changes please notify as soon as possible.
