About the Flute

The Flute is part of the woodwind family and is sometimes referred to as the soprano of the orchestra. Whether it’s carrying a beautiful melody or a quick scale run, the gracefulness of the flute has inspired composers throughout centuries to pen its beauty.

A Flute teacher can teach the ability to read and interpret music, as well as helping the student obtain the perfect tone. Students wanting to learn an instrument to join a school or community Marching Band or Orchestra, will find that flute lessons are an excellent choice. This beautiful instrument is often considered a favorite by both those who play and those who simply enjoy it as a listener.

Feel free to try a flute lesson for free to see if the flute might just be the right instrument for you.  Who knows maybe you will start a life long passion for this incredible instrument! Contact Debbie to get more information or to schedule a lesson.

Flute Fun Facts

A musician who plays the flute can be referred to as a flute player, a flautist, or a flutist.

Because the flute is reed-less, it typically requires more air than any other wind instrument. So get ready for some awesome lungs!

Flutes come in many different types and size including the piccolo, alto, tenor, bass and contrabass flute.

The flute has been played by many well known people including George Washington, Edgar Allan Poe and Leonardo Da Vinci. So people taking flute lessons are in pretty great company!
